NEW PICK-UP PROCESS
This year we will try a new pick-up process for Activity Night. The 5th grade students should be picked up in the back of the building by the playground, where the office is.  6th grade students should be picked up in the bus loop out front.  This is the same location for 6th grade as last year.  If you have a student in each grade, please pick them up in the 6th grades area.  We hope that this will increase safety, keep cars off Mackinaw Trail Road and speed up pick-up time.  Please be patient as we continue to refine this process and increase efficiencies.

MTMS Verified Entry System

With the goal of increased security, Cadillac Area Public Schools will institute a verified entry system at all K-8 CAPS school buildings during school hours.  Beginning on Monday, February 2, 2015, visitors to Cadillac Area Public School Buildings will be asked to "request entry" through a "security buzzer" entry system.  Similar to a doorbell, the buzzer is located at the main entrance of each building and visitors will be asked to verify their identity and purpose of their visit prior to being admitted to the building.  Here at MTMS, you will find the button to request entry to the right of the main entry doors.  Please press the button and wait a moment.  If we have not responded in 2 minutes, please press the button again as our Administrative Assistants may have missed your call.

After entering the building, you will be required to sign in at the office and wear a visitors badge while on the premises.  You are asked to sign out prior to leaving the building.  The purpose of the verified entry system is to better monitor visitors in our buildings during school hours at Cadillac Area Public Schools.  Thank you for your cooperation as we all become familiar with the new entry procedure.  Patience and feedback is requested as we institute this safety measure.  It is a program that has been successfully used in schools across the country and one additional step to monitoring guests in our buildings as a safety measure for our staff and students.  Your child's safe learning environment is one of our highest priorities.  Thank you for your support and understanding.

Attendance Line

If your child is absent from school please call our attendance line 231-876-5603 as soon as possible on the day of the absence.  You can call the attendance line at anytime.  For preplanned absences please send a note to school.
